Water System Replumbing

Hi all. I am re piping the water system. Salt water/ fresh water heat exchanger and I was wondering whether it is better to have right angled connectors or larger loops so there is less bends to reduce restriction in the pipe assembly. Right angles do look neater and that's what it had when I bought the boat. Thanks in advance. Coachbolt.

Re: Water system replumbing

Long els would give you less restriction to flow, i.e. you'd have less pressure drop in your system. The amount depends on piping diameter, number of elbows and material.

Unless you need more pressure, I'd put the system back the way it was.

If pressure has become a concern, you might be better off with a pump rebuild.
