We have been running a Volvo Penta
MD7B built in about 1981 for the last year. It runs very sweetly and starts first time everytime. The only concern we have is that it drinks about 1 litre of fuel
for every 10 litres of diesel
. It does smoke a bit when it starts but it certainly isnt a smoke stack. She works very well but.......!
Any ideas very gratefully received!
I also have some very "beginner" questions.......
I have just changed
a) the primary fuel filter
b) secondary fuel filter
c) the oil filter
d) the impeller
e) engine oil
In rough terms after how many hours of engine
usage should we change them again?
at about 2,600 to 2,700 revs for about 80% of the time but occasionaly run the engine at about 1,000 revs to 1,500 revs to top up the batteries.
