Volvo penta md11c with 110 sail drive

I have a 77 Aloha and it looks like it will cost me 4k to rebuild the engine and I'm looking for feedback to see if instead i used a volvo penta D1-20 to replace it. Would this work and what sail drive would i have to get for it? Thanks.

You don't state which Aloha model you have, so it might be that you could use the VP D1-20, or if you have the Aloha 34 you might consider the D1-30.

In either case you would couple the engine with the 130s saildrive. Repower brackets are available to allow either the D1-20 or D1-30 engine to adapt to the old MD11 engine bed, and the 130 saildrive clamp ring and rear mount bracket will fit the old fiberglass bed. It should be an easy repower.
