Re: volvo md2020

Somewhere between 3,001 and 15,000 hrs. It is more a matter of what shape the engines are in and how they have been used and maintained rather than a specific number of hours for a specific brand/model.

How are they running now? Oil pressure, compression, temperature, oil consumption, leaks, smoke, etc?

If in excellent shape, maintained well and used judiciously, they should have another 3000 in them with some basic stuff like rebuilding the injectors and new exhaust elbows.

Or they could go tango uniform tomorrow.

Smile Re: volvo md2020

Funny old world isn't it. We also have two MD 2020 Volvos. The last full sevice I asked the Volvo mechanic how long a life the engines would have. His reply was that they would outlive me as long as we had them maintained correctly.

Well they are running so smoothly and sweetly and we keep to the regular oil and filter changes as per the Volvo specs.

Good luck
