Volvo Engines - Non Original Spare Parts

Hello everyone

we're looking to get some spares for our Volvo Penta D2-40 engines, specifically the oil filters, amongst others. Any tips on how we can find out the serial numbers of non-Volvo filters, such as Napa or Jabsco, that would work on our engines? Have been looking on the web and asking at chandlers' but so far with no success (we're in Rodney Bay, St Lucia).

A word of caution.
Before buying large numbers of aftermarket parts, make sure that they truly function as the originals.
Learned my lesson the hard way.
Volvo and W/beke parts are expensive, BUT the Fram oil filter described as the replacement for the W/beke W46 does not function the same.

We have been using aftermarket filters on our VP for 8 years now, no issues. We have used Bosch, Sierra, and half a dozen of other makes. If you search the forum you will find a post where I posted a link to online catalogs.

Like e.g. UFI, Italy. Cross reference included:

Look up the specs beforehand and make sure the filter IS identical, esp the oil one.
