volvo D240 problems
Just installed new engine, worked great for 3 hours then started banging
towards rear of engine. Checked fuel, filters and injectors. Seems like it's
coming from area around starter? It has a 130 s saildrive. Gets noisier
in gear but still there in neutrol. Any suggestions?

Your both right, I took it apart today and yep dampener plate needs replacing.

A rule of thumb is, when ever you have the engine out to do major work, refit with a new Dampener plate.
