Volvo 2002 injector sleeve fix

Just a note to let you all know that I was successful in fixing a leaky (water and blow-bye) sleeve and injector problem on my new to me volvo penta 2002. Took the head off, ordered the parts and tools from Marine Parts Express in Maine and had the head and injectors refurbished by a local diesel mechanic. The job cost me around $600 plus my own labor. Also replaced some O-rings and other routine maintenance things. Engine runs like a top.

Kudos to "Marine Parts Express" for their help and speedy delivery of the parts. I didn't think their prices were to bad (Volvo parts have a reputation for being expensive).

Gerry, what was the cost of the tools needed. We have a Volvo 2003.

The furing tool was about $40, the extractor was in the $75 range. I didn't buy the extractor though, drilled and teased the old injector tubes out.
Put oil on the furing tool when your using it, it works pretty hard even when oiled. You can down load schematics from the Marine parts express web site.

my project for this month is volvo repair. getting involve with volvo land trans and volvo water trans. i am creating a way on how to make some parallel works with the land and water. hope i that i find this successful.
