vetus p4.21/ first diesel questions

I have purchased an older vetus engine based on the peugeot indenor xdp engine. Does anyone know of a place to get a manual for it? I also need a water pump. The vetus water pump part number is stm 8000 and would love to know a johnson or jabsco model that would work. I have contacted vetus and depco pumps and generally am having trouble finding much about this engine...

This is my first diesel as I am replacing a gas engine. I could use help figuring out how the cooling system works. I think it goes something like this.. water pump">raw water pump supplies heat exchanger on one side. this much I know but am confused about the rest. There is an outlet above the exhaust that in a picture I found sends water back into the other side of the heat exchanger. but if that is the case how does the water exit through the exhaust. Also there is no port on the exhaust elbow to send the water into the pipe... what the heck?

Also I see know air filter at all on the engine don't they usually have them?

Any help would be appreciated.
