Using lifting eyes on Volvo Penta

Soon i will be changing my engine, i will do it myself.my old MD 17 has lifting eyes, they look pretty solid, so i think i can use them, lifting the engine out. My new Volvo Penta 2040 has lifting eyes to, but they look very small, and one is sitting on the side of the heatexchanger cassing. There are two eyes, each mounted with a single M8 bolt. Would they hold? I guess that is what they are there for, but they look very small.

the engine is only 150kg or so should be no problem, but if worried attach a line under the alternator and exhaust to spread the load

Re: Using lifting eyes on Volvo Penta

Those are the lifting eyes that the factory uses to lift and move the Volvo Penta 2040, so you will be just fine.
