Universal XP25 Engine Fail - Debris in Valve

Hi,

I had a recent engine failure with an interesting failure mechanism. The stock air cleaner contains a fine metal screen at the bottom of the can like filter body. After years of vibration a portion of the screen, about the size of a quarter, broke loose and worked it way through the intake manifold coming to rest at an intake valve. Symptoms were either no start or run briefly. I popped the head. Discovered issue. Had the head checked and dropped in new injectors for good measure. Reattached head and all is good. Recommend if you have an older Universal that you check the air cleaner for said screen and remove it and anything else within (they came with a sort of metal brillo pad inside). The filter has a foam outer sleeve that of course should be used.
