Transmission Ratio (I need Advice)

I want to buy a Transmission for my 16 Feet mini Tug Boat Candu Ez.
ZF Hurth 10M.

The Spec says : ZM 10M A=2.05
Serial 12654 V B=1.66
Pin : 3304002010

My research said :
'A' POS = continuous running position (normally AHEAD).
'B' POS = reverse position.

So, if I am Right, I need less RMP in reverse position ?

Ahead - engine 2000rpm = 975 prop.rmp
Reverse - engine 2000 rmp = 1282 prop. rpm

Am I Right ??? need less Rpm in reverse ???

Re: Transmission Ratio (I need Advice)

Why should you use full throttle in reverse?

Re: Transmission Ratio (I need Advice)

There are many online prop calculators, some of them better than others, but trying several you can find out the ballpark what you need.
You need also many more things to know before predicting the drive train more accurately.
You can also get 'propeller handbook' by Dave Gerr

Re: Transmission Ratio (I need Advice)

What I mean is, for the transmission, is it the way it work ? If I say 2;1 engine 2000 Rmp and shaft 1000 Rmp ?
