Too Much Rust

Dear all,

I’m new on sailing I bought a Coronado 35 that comes with a proud Yanmar motor, 3qm …

The motor works very well, but have this lot of rust, It was produced by a defective hose at the out side of water pump, the water runs over the motor with this result.

I wondering if this is just cosmetics or I need to work to remove it.

If I need to remove, What is the best way to do ????

Thanks!

Yeahh, is very rusty!!! some components in the engine are very sensitive to rust and corrosion, fuel pump , fuel injection lines, elbow, exaust manifold, etc... and the only way to fix it properly in a engine like in the picture is to remove the engine from the boat, light sandblast, primer, and fresh yanmar paint, and wacht the engine mounts , probably with this amount of rust need to replace.Good luck.
