Stuck Rings...Help!

I want to thank everyone who posted on this thread. I finally found out what caused the problem and wanted to share it solution with the group. As you know, the genset sat for several years and then was started once and then was shut down for nine months before it was started again. Everything I tried failed so I took the head off the engine and found that the number one cylinder had rust around the valve stems and when I tried to crank the engine, the valves stuck in the guides and bent the push rods. I replace all 6 valves even though only 2 were bad and three of the push rods and the engine now runs like new. Thanks again for the help
