Starside's Electric Conversion

I am restoring an antique 1930 Elco Marinette & during the process, I decided to convert her diesel engine to Elco's electric propulsion system.

I'm posting here for those of you who are interested in seeing the process. This is still ongoing, so I'll post as it happens.

Here is a pic of Starside before any work has been done.

Here's a pic of her interior just so you can get an idea of her beauty & why I'm putting so much effort into her restoration.

Re: Starside's Electric Conversion

Here is her original Diesel engine. It was a 3-cyl Perkins. A nice little engine but very Loud.

Here is a close up of the universal gear & shaft. These will probably be replaced w the Elco recommendations.

Thank you!

She's been mostly on the hard since I've purchased her, but once the engine is installed, I should be ready for a good season of cruising. We still have to get acquainted but I think we'll get along just fine. :-)
