Speedi Sleeve for Jabsco 3270-0001 shaft

Hello there, can anyone tell me what size Speedi Sleeve will fit the shaft of the Jabsco 3270-0001 pump? I am helping my daughter take her boat to Florida and the pump has started to leak. I want to have a sleeve on hand in case the shaft is scored.

If the pump has just started to leak, the shaft is likely not scored.

That being the case, you should find it easy to replace the two lip seals (numbers 4 and 10 in the attached illustration).

The sequence is:

1. one or both of the lip seals fail;
2. water passing the lip seal(s) drips out the tell-tale;
3. water dripping warns you to rebuild the pump (i.e. change the lip seals);

and

4. if you do not change the lip seals promptly, water may enter where you do not want it to go; and/or
5. stagnant water held against the stainless steel shaft will cause crevice corrosion;
6. grit in water will cause scoring of the shaft.

Thanks, we'll tear it down tommorow. The boat sat in the water, but unused, for a year and a half, so maybe there's corrosion on the shaft. We'll see soon

In case someone else can use this information for the Jabsco 3270 pump; the seals size is: bore .624 x o.d. 1.125 x width .313. Both seals are the same.

The bearing is a 3202 A2ZTN9

The Speedi Sleeve is part #99062.

The repair took less than two hours and no special tools were needed.
