Schooner Bay Marine Remanufactured Diesels

does anyone have any experience buying a re-manufactured diesel from Schooner Bay Marine. Looking at a re-power and wondering if anyone has purchased from Schooner Bay Marine.

Inventory

Thanks for your help.

I guess from the term "remanufactured" we are talking about a completely overhauled older engine. In this case you would want to know what was done to the engine to overhaul it, what new parts were installed, what the warranty period and conditions are and whether there is certified documentation on the cooling water flows from when the engine was tested.
Many engines are changed out for overheating issues and you need to know that the head and water jacket waterways have been cleared out and tested for the required design flow.

When I inquired about my Yanmar 4JH2-TE to be rebuilt, and what exactly will be done, I never got an answer, via email. I guess that old Kraut doesn't do email...

The words "re-manufactured" and "rebuilt" can have completely different meanings to you and a sales guy. You need to find out what their definition is and make sure it is not a new oil seal to fix the leak the engine had when they bought it used and a fresh coat of red paint.

Or gray or blue paint.
