replacement for Walbro fuel pump

I'm sick of rebuilding the Walbro fuel pump that came installed on my 87 Flicka. The rubber diaphragm gives out after a few years. There has got to be something better out there. All suggestions appreciated.

Is there a proper filter upstream? Are you running regular diesel or bio? I think mine is a facet pump, but yours should not have that much trouble, I think many use walbros. How often do you run your motor?
