Removing fuel injection pump from Yanmar 4jh2-te

Has anyone removed their injection pump from the above yanmar?

If so any pit falls to look out for?

Engine is in situ, i have read up as much as i can, but before i start thought I might try and get some advice.

Reason is that the seal is leaking in the base plate, and i cannot get it off when pump is on the engine , (believe me I have tried!)
