Pre-Lube Pumps

While reading the thread on turbocharged diesels I wondered "why not simply use a pre-lube pump?" Would seem rather simple to start oil circulation around all bearings prior to starting, then let it run for a minute or so after shutdown. No chance of turbo shaft crashing on the bearings then.

Anyone out there installed an electric pre-lube pump on their engine? Seems a logical approach to me...

That's what the "big boys" do (pre-lube).
