Perkins m60 engine hours clock not working

Hi excuse me if I知 not in the correct forum.
This subject has been covered many times but I知 still unable to ascertain if hours clock power is from oil/alt lights on panel or relay on back of motor or possibly alternator .The taco works fine as does all other instruments, however if I motor for a considerable period 6 hours or more the battery light comes on.Is there a connection here I知 missing?? Can the clock be damaged or it is simply a power supply issue

Re: Perkins m60 engine hours clock not working

Greetings and welcome aboard the CF, Brad.

Apply 12VDC directly to clock. If it runs, you have a power supply issue. If not, a clock issue.
