Perkins 4.236M Radiator Cap

Hi,
I am hoping someone can give me an idea where to locate an OEM or a suitable alternative for a radiator cap for a 4.236M lowline engine. I believe a Fordson Major tractor radiator cap will work, but am unsure of the model tractor or P/N for that.
Any Ideas?

I have seen caps for this engine with settings of 4, 7, and 11 lbs. Makes a considerable difference in the boiling point of the coolant most suitable for your engine use.

Re: Perkins 4.236M Radiator Cap

Hi,
Radiator caps for the 4.236M are available from parts4engines.com
Give them your engine number if possible
I have a 1978 lowline version and the manual shows a 7 for my radiator cap
Check yours by engine number and cros ref to the manuals if possible

These guys (parts4engines.com) have a lot of parts for the engine
Also try ASAP supplies in UK

Failing that, go looking for your nearest Massey Ferguson dealer/garage/mechanic. These guys may have it

Re: Perkins 4.236M Radiator Cap

Greetings and welcome aboard the CF, Seamaster IRL.

According to the manual, the proper pressure cap is rated 7 psi.

Yup, got all that. Thanks for the input. The Fordson major is only rated at 4psi. The engine was running with one fitted when I bought the boat, but it fell apart and I refitted the original, but it is looking a bit tired now. Have sourced one in the Uk, so should be ok.
