G'day, Underdog. Keep an eye for us in the Bay of Islands when you make it over in the spring/summer. Yes, 2007-Pierre your right, one of these rainy days that heat exchanger might just get moved to another spot. Probably relocate the oil cooler as well. Not this rainy day though.
I run a 100 amp
alternator with one V-belt (in the photo). I have replaced the fresh
water pump once over the years, but haven't had any real trouble. I wouldn't go any larger though without going to 2 belts.
An FYI, Massy Ferguson used the 2-236 on their model 375 tractor from around 1986 to 1998. You might find cheaper priced alternatives for parts from those resources (they wouldn't be using a heat exchanger though). I bought a replacement
water pump from NAPA in the states, W-14 for the spare parts bin. It's probably an Asian knockoff, but every
captain gets to set his own risk/cost benefit ratios. Cheers.
