Perkins 4-154 Coolant Cap Pressure Rating ?

I need to replace the cap on the Bowman Heat exchanger because I believe it to be leaking. Can anyone tell me what pressure rating the cap should be? Im thinking about 8-10lbs but not sure. The existing cap has no markings.

I use a 13 lb on a 4-107. Seems to work great.

Just in case...

I thought I needed a pressure cap. I kept having antifreeze show up in the pan under the engine. Until I called Trans Atlantic Diesel. They told me to not fill my 4.154 (with Bowman) so full. I stopped filling up to the top & now I don't get any more antifreeze overflow.

Your cap may indeed need replacing but you might want to check the level of fill.

G'Day,

Early series 4107s had 2 seal ring liners they where fitted with 4psi caps the latter 3 ring units have 7psi ,13psi in a old wet liner motor is pushing the numbers....so to speak.

I think the problem is overfilling as suggested. I spoke with the folks at TA Diesles and got the same. I do think I need a new cap though as the brass or copper sheeting inside is broken. I know sorry hard to explain...
