Perkins 4-107

Can anybody give me a procedure for testing the compression on a PERKINS 4107 engine - have only ever tested petrol engines before (was many years ago), and obviously diesels have no convenient spark plug. Are special tools are needed?

You remove the injector and use that as an access. Some special tools are sometimes required.

I got an old injector for my Perkins shop and made the connection for my gauge. If I remember correctly the numbers were running about 450psi. Point is, a gauge made for a gas engine probably won't go high enough.
