Thanks,I tried the link but oversize or service ring kit for these engines are not available...if I want to go this route the only way I see is to find gas engine of same bore size and ring dimensions .10 over.

Re: Perkins 107/108 oversize rings.

I've never heard of just going oversize with the rings. Oversize has always meant a rebore of the engine with new larger pistons with rings to match. With wear, the cylinders get out of round and wear so there is a ridge where the rings top out. Need to bore out the cylinders to get rid of the ridge and roundness back which necessitates larger pistons. Also, the ring glands in the pistons wear oversize so reusing the piston in a rebuild is usually a no no.

Re: Perkins 107/108 oversize rings.

My pistons are reusable...cylinders are not worn beyond specs...but need rings to tighten up compression...standard rings aren't enough...ring makers used to have re-ring kits but no more...hone & os rings will work for cheap & adequate fix.
