outboard motor question

Hi,
I have a Yamaha 25 horse outboard for my dingy. Yes it is a little big but it came with my 40' sailboat. The engine runs great as long an I keep pumping the flow bulb. I have changed filters in the in my external fuel filter, replaced the bulb and the fuel line thinking there might be a pin hole leak in that but none of that has helped. Any suggestion? My left forearm is beginning to look like Popeye's.

Is the tank vent open?

Do your fittings fit tight? The universal type fittings sometimes leak and/or don't provide a good connection.

I have replaced them when I replaced the fuel line and continually tighten them. I do not seem to get any leakage when trying to increase the pressure on the line. Would a larger diameter fuel line help?

Try cleaning the carburetor. It's easy to take off and dismantle.

Sounds like the classic example of a cracked fuel pump diaphragm to me, easy to replace, looks a lot like a gasket.

It runs when you squeeze the bulb but not when you don't? Come on guys, you have to think fuel pump first.
