Outboard for My B29

Ok so I have a 1968 Bristol 29 with the original A4, it has proven to be costly and not always reliable and I would love the space of not having an inboard. I can’t really afford 10K repower with Beta diesel etc.

Here are my intentions:
1.) Number 1 goal is to run in the Single Handed Transpac
2.) I live in the SF Bay so things occasionally get hairy
2.) I will inevitably need power to get in and out of a slip but not necessarily for electrical charging etc.

Constraints:
1.) I am on a budget (shocking)
2.) I have a monitor wind vane currently attached and it needs to stay

Possible solution:
1.) Honda 15HP mounted to back of monitor vane structure. Is this a crazy/silly idea?
