Oil For Kanzaki Gearbox?

Hi all, any oil experts out there. I want to change the oil in my gearbox, a Kanzaki KM3A1 on a Yanmar, on the tag it specifies SAE20/30 HD 0.45 lts, I'm in the Med and can't seem to get it anywhere, I use 15W/40 in the engine,will that suffice? Also I'm totally confused, screw the dipstick all the way in, to read ,or dip at the start of the thread. Many thanks and good sailing, Roscoe

Have only ever used 15/40 hd diesel oil same as engine, totalling many thousands of hours without any problems.Rest stick on thread to get correct level.
