New Engine & Genset

Hi all:

Got some pictures of the new engine and genset install on my Sceptre 41. Also managed to sell the old engine (5000 hours) to defray some of the cost.

Racor's are right off the tank which is about two feet forward of the engine below the floor boards.

Wish I could take credit but all I did was clean the bilge and sign the check. I was up there for the removal but I spent the whole time working on the electrical. I can recommend Gartside Marine Engines as great people to work with. (Sidney BC)

I am going to be really excited to see how the engine performs. The rated power difference between the two engines is 11 HP (55hp new 44hp old) but the old engine had low compresion and there were a few engine driven compressors (watermaker & high output alternator) slowing things down. My WAG is I'll have an extra 15 to 20 hp on the engine. The swap out was really easy with the engine. There is a 2" steel plate that runs thru the engine bed so all they had to do was tap a new hole for the mounting. The genset was more difficult. There is still room to do maintenance.
