Get the tel# for "Complete Yacht Service" in Ft.Lauderdale, ask for Mark, {USMC), he is the local Yanmar dealer and knows all there is to know about Yanmar trannys etc.

I have a complete transmission I'm not using. I actually have a complete 2gm20 in parts that in was going to rebuild but went a different direction. I'm sure we could work something out.

Is the transmission Kanzaki KM2-A? Is it in good shape? Clutch cones have been problematic on this tranny for a while.

Have a transmission off a 3GM30. Not sue if that will work. Will be back to the boat after the 5th and can give you details then. Transmission is in good shape and working fine.

The 3gm30 may have the k3a transmission. I'm not sure if the transmissions are interchangeable.

If you are still looking for a transmission, finally got the transmission out. It's a KM2P with 2.21 gears. Less than a 1,000 hours, maybe way less. No hour meter on the engine when I bought the boat 9 years ago. Engine looked like it had just been installed with perfect paint and virtually no hours. I've put less than 200 hours on it. $700 plus shipping. Priority mail to anywhere in the US is around $80.

The factory used the KM2P on the 3GM30 engine. The KM3P and KM2P are interchangeable. Only difference is a cast in tab on the front face of the box for attaching the shift cable. The bell housing on the engine has the identical tapped holes for the cable bracket so it is a redundant addition. Type of transmission may have something to do with gear ratio on what transmission was installed. Local Yanmar Dealer said he'd seen other 3GM30 engines with KM2P transmission.
