Now sometime soon, I get to helicoil the heat exchanger where one of the bolts stripped. Bolts? Why in the world did they use bolts and not studs?

But he said its a slowly developing problem in OP so doesn't sound like a generic trait for his diesel.

What about crossing the Juan de Fuca next time you empty& filling up in Port Townsend ( or closest ) if they have higher cetane diesel in USA? If time permits of course.
