Marine Instant Gasket

Someone once recommended this stuff for the spares kit:
Marine Instant Gasket Tube 2.8 fl.oz. - BoatLIFE

Seems like just "marine" overpriced high-temp silicone sealant, which could be had a lot cheaper at a woodstove store?

Is it really sufficient for an emergency gasket on a diesel?

Yes, it is just RTV silicone gasket maker, which you can find inexpensively in all autopart and hardware stores.

It is as sufficient for a repair on a diesel as it would any place else. Won't substitute for a head gasket, but fine for a water pump or valve cover gasket.
