Looking for Yanmar 2GM Transmission Control Parts

I need to get a sprung clevis for my Yanmar 2GM transmission control, but they cost a bloody ridiculous fortune ($200!) here in Oz. Can anyone recommend a supplier in the USA that has a comprehensive stock and mails overseas?

I doubt it - what I'm after is a clevis with an internal sprung. I could make up a simple clevis myself.

are you talking about the fitting on the end of the cable that bolts to the trans shift lever?

That's the one alright. It applies a bit of spring preload to the transmission shift lever in both the forward and reverse positions.

on later versions of the KM2 & 3 behind GM and YM engines. It was replaced with solid square stock, drilled appropriately.

I believe what lockie is referring to is the spring joint (#6) ? Yanmar uses this to hold a slight pressure on both the forward and reversing gears to prevent premature wear on the cone. Providing it is adjusted correctly. It is my understanding that in the newer boxes there is an internal type of spring that accomplishes the same without being so finicky? Probably of no help but the last one I bought was about $45 at

Bump. I, too, am now looking for this part. From nevermonday's comment it might seem I could just make up a piece in solid stock, or is he saying that yanmar changed the transmission to make the spring unnecessary but my clutch would need to be sprung?

If anyone has this engine and wouldn't mind taking a quick look at your clutch cable linkage and giving me some dimensions it would be a great help!

Oh, I suppose that would point towards not being able to just make a solid linkage. Still, it seems like if I can shift it by hand I ought to be able to make a solid linkage to work at least temporarily?

Bump I am also looking for this part this thread started 5 years ago can't believe Yanmar has not stocked this part at least I can't find it

Best of luck to you. I gave up looking and made them myself, did a bit of a hack job but they work just fine. If you're handy with tools it's just a couple of cuts and bends in some 1/8" stainless or mild steel (easier to find and work with, should be fine for 10+ years with a coat of paint), but getting the cuts and bends in the right place took me a few tries. If I were to do it again I would use some heavy cardstock to make templates first.

Thanks for that calderp, I just found out my km2p uses a standard clevis not spring type that is only for the km2a,km3a. If the spring type is required and not used it will wear out the cones.
