Looking for help with Isuzu engine

Does anyone else out there own a sailboat that has an Isuzu c190 engine or something similar? My wife and I just purchased our first sailboat and today I checked the coolant level in the raw water heat exchanger and it's dry, so now I'm looking into a new heat exchanger and maybe an elbow. The only problem is that there aren't any labels and the engine isn't originally a marine engine so I'm trying to find out where to find parts. Anybody have any advice?

The Isuzu exhausts I've looked at all seemed pieced together. Mr. Cool has heat exchangers for a good price. The elbows looked home made.

Dunno that engine, but first... is it freshwater or raw water cooled?

In either case, the raw water system can maybe drain down during periods of non-use, so not seeing boatloads of seawater in the HX after it's been laid up a while might not be a problem.

Have you run the engine? Water pump and impeller apparently working? Apparently good water flow?

Hi, I have a Pisces Isuzu 40 Hp 3AB1. Do you mean the header tank - where you add coolant or the heat exchanger which is a closed unit with two spigots for coolant and 2 for raw water? Email me directly and together we can sort something out.

Not to bring life to an old topic, but I too have an Isuzu C190 that has the same problem. Did you ever find a genuine answer?
