Kirloskar RE t - 4 Diesel Engine. Anyone Know Anything !?

Hello All,

I have a Kirloskar, RET - 4 diesel engine in a boat I have recently purchased. The spares list manual states that it is made in India. It has been marinised by Jachtmotern Rotterdam B.V. (Netherlands). It seems to be working ok but try as I might I can not find any information about it, or where to get spares for it in the UK or by post from Europe. I can not find JMR at the address I have for them in Holland on the internet, perhaps they have moved or gone bust. If the engine was fitted at the time of build it would go back to 1988.

Anyone got any ideas for spares. Perhaps the engine was made under licence and in fact is the same as a more famous make?

You might track down a connection using the contact pages. Obviously the marinization was not done by them and that excludse most all the parts attached to the engine block as well. They may have only supplied the block and minimal parts to the OEM that marinized the engine. They don't appear to list that produict line as a a marine engine. The accessories on a marine engine vary greaty but it's not uncommon to find the same exact block used in other applications.

I have emailed them and a couple of other Indian websites related to Kirloskar diesels. One email address bounced back .... no longer available. One site showed links to European dealers but when followed through there were no dealers listed!

The sites have no mention of the RE - 4

Obviously it is the weekend so I will await their reply s over next week and let you know any info I find out.

Where are you located?

The Kirloskar engine is definitely of Indian derivation, and may have been manufactured under licence, or marinised (as you imply) by second parties

hello, I have a similar engine, a RE-4, also marinised by JMR. JMR sold all their Kirloskar parts to some company in Germany, but this was already a long time ago. Kirloskar India doesn't have any parts for these models either. I didn't manage to get a new cooling water pump, so I had to build it to external pump.
Anyway, I have a handbook, a spare parts list and a maintenance book...

Hello Mabuhay, I am pleased that it still has a thing in the world one Kirloskar Motor has. Usually they're in the Netherlands and Germany to no more spare parts.
It would be great if you copier me the manual and spare parts list once, scan,
