Kanter 45, 1987, engine TMD 30 A

Just purchesed a KANTER 45 , 1987 with a volvo penta TMD 30 A (90 hp) , I can't find any info on this engine, any one know if it had any problems and what I should watch for . The previous owner did no maintence, all he said is it dosen't leak oil and it doesn't smoke. There is 1700 hours on the motor, he said he had no problems so far. Any info on this motor would be helpful. thankyou . atlantic high

I have a MD30A on my 1986 Whitby 42 with 7600 hrs starts with less than 10 sec of preheat no smoke. the fresh water pump was replaced last year. I my rebuild it next year 2010. Parts are expensive for all Volvos
