Installing a FilterBOSS with a Prefilter?

I am in the process of installing a KTI FilterBOSS. I have an existing FRAM C1191 filter (looks like this) CAV leading from my two keel tank diesel fuel manifold. Given that I am within all the height restrictions for the FilterBOSS, is there any reason I cannot keep this "prefilter" prior to the fuel reaching the FilterBOSS?

I have some known old fuel in my tanks, so the first job I want to do is to polish that fuel as well as I can.

Thanks in advance.

Depends on that filter's micron rating. The idea is for progressive filtration. Read this and understand why Racors are obsolete:

Why can't things remain where i carelessly left them?

I appreciate the overview, but I am unlikely to reinvent a wheel I've just replaced. I will read that, however, as it does look comprehensive from a quick scan. Thank you.
