Hi all,

so I've been drawing my full electric schema for my boat. There is one thing I don't understand. I must be missing something! From my Yanmar 3gm30 instrument panel I have a switch for lights. All the instruments of this panel are connected with the engine itself. How do I wire my boatlights? I imagine there must be a way to connect them directly to the engine or the instrument panel itself?

Hopefully there is someone with some experience!

If it is like my Yanmar 3HM35F, the light switch turns on the lamps behind the instrument dials so they can be read at night. It is not for the nav lights.

You don't want your nav lights wired to that panel otherwise the panel lights will be on when you have your anchor light or tri colour or other nav lights on whilst sailing.
