Depending on the boat sometimes it can easier to jump in the water
than get to the shaft in the engine
compartment. No idea how I'd know that. :-)
You reminded me that the first time I went to check the zinc on the propeller
shaft of my 'new' used sailboat there was not enough exposed shaft for a zinc or to take a measurement. Turned out a zinc plate was located on the side of the hull
with a wire running into the engine
compartment. The wire was attached to a piece of metal that was rubbing on the propeller
shaft. Live and learn.
