Hydraulic hose for suction line?

Anybody ever used hydraulic hose 3/4" in my case for there raw water intake?? Is this a good or bad idea?

SAE 100R4 hydraulic hose is rated for Suction.

I'm just wondering if it's a good choice. Or should I get the true marine stuff at twice the price? A d if so why?

Hydraulic hose would in my opinion be fine. It’s a different thing though, way stronger, meant for comparatively ridiculously high pressure when compared to marine hose, and therefore has a whole lot more steel wire reinforcement.
I’d want SS reinforced hose, I have seen a whole lot of hydraulic hose use regular steel. I don’t think it would cause a failure cause the hose is under what amounts to almost zero pressure or suction, but the regular wire could cause a rusty mess.
This is all just my opinion of course.
Myself, Id buy the marine hose if it’s available, ought to be a whole lot easier to get onto fittings and tighten with a hose clamp, but I’d use the hydraulic hose if that was all there was.
