Re: How long does stored diesel last?

Oh man... Do you think I could buy Titanic coal futures???? I may be looking at diamonds some day!

I saw the other day they were auctioning a "biscuit" from the boat...

Evidently you can also buy bones of drowned passengers. Priced by the pound. Unfortunately they do not identify who's bones. But way cool. You could mount it over your fireplace on a nice plaque made of the Titanic's grand staircase.
Femur of a Titanic Passenger. What a conversation piece.

Re: How long does stored diesel last?

In most of the world, diesel is still high sulfur. You can tell if its normally good if it has a waxy feel to it and a semi-gloss sheen. Learn your diesel by rubbing it between your fingers. Should be able to tell dirty fuel, low sulfur fuel, diesel mixed with gasoline, and so forth. Useful skill to have. Sometimes, as in a previous poster's remarks, you get diesel that really is partly refined crude, which you really do not want in your tanks. Stealing fuels at refineries is common worldwide and sometimes what is stolen are not the end products but still good for fires, lubrication, and so forth.
