Help with block identificaton for my Universal engine

I have a universal M2-12 engine. I recently purchased a copy of the service manual. The manual is also the same manual for the following engines M25, M25Xp, M-30, M4-30, M35. Is the M2-12 also a kubota block the oil fill cap has what appears to be Japanese writing on it regarding what type of oil to add. I did manage to get a partial serial number but I was unable to match any of the numbers to the kubota web site for block identification. The numbers I have are as follows B4 K 895. I am looking to try and save a bit money on parts.

Re: Help with block identificaton for my Universal engine

I have a M-25XPB which is a Kubota block. It is my understanding that they are all Kubota blocks. Six trouble free years so far.....

I suspect it is based on the Kubota Z-430 (26 cubic inch, 11HP, 2 cylinder).
