Heat Exchange and Exhaust - Unidentified Hoses

Greetings All,

I seek your collective advice regarding two unidentified hoses...

(1) as the raw water routes through heat exchange system - after it leaves my water pump">raw water pump and heads off to first oil cooler (engine oil) - a small 20mm hose diverts off at 90 degrees...it has a stopper in it. (refer to photo)

Is this some sort of raw water bleeding hose?...

(2) after my exhaust leaves the mixing tank - that is where the raw water and exhaust meet - and before it leaves via the through hull - a similar small 20mm hose diverts off...

Is this an anti-siphon device?...

Regards

Richard

Hard to tell from the photo but sounds like an old take off for a water heater to me.

I agree with Capt. Wayne. It appears to be plumbed to heat water from the engine heat.
