hylomar is available in oz, i've used it on cars motorbikes and boats for 20 years - its main advantages are 1, good seal and 2, when you need to take it apart again it hasnt welded itself in position. i have a sheet of gasket paper that i cut gaskets from - i never tried a sea chart, guess it'd work.
