Gallons per Hour Calculation
My brain is tired today, so is this right?
Say twin engine boat going slow does this
goes 16 miles uses 8 gallons at 6 miles an hour is 2 mpg.
Is the gallons per hour is 2.67??

No, it's 3 gallons per hour. (6 miles in one hour @ 2mpg uses 3 gallons)

Re: gallons per hour calculation
Thanks for that
Then does this make any sense?
change the numbers but intuitively seems wrong
boat goes 16 miles uses 8 gallons at 30 miles an hour equals 2.0mpg
30/2 = 15 gph ?

Intuitively it may reside in the mind of the beholder
For me, if I use 8 gallons and I expect 15 gph, I think I must have travelled a bit over 30 minutes. Therefore at 30 mph, I must have travelled a bit over 15 miles in that time so 16 miles seems to be intuitively correct
Maybe after a nap, this will seem better for you
