It would work as long as that pump pressure was not too strong, so you could throttle it back with a valve, otherwise fuel would be squirting under pressure.

My primer electrical pump is a low volume /low pressure pump. (Black cylinder with red circle)

Whereas the Jabsco Junior Gear Puppy for polishing is rated at up to 180 gph, so when first testing this new installation, I may need to throttle this down to about 90gph for optimum filter performance

Re: Fuel Polishing- Racor P510

My setup is going to be quite different. I have a sailboat, little Yanmar three banger, and a single 30 gallon fuel tank. The old filter assembly I have lying around and am going to put on for polishing is just a Racor 110A, 15gph rating. I'd think a little electric automotive pump would do fine for that, and I can think of no reason not to use it for bleeding of the main fuel line as well.

Thanks for the input. I think I'll try it. If it doesn't work I can always make changes.

That sounds pretty good Atticus.
I will post photos, once my "fuel wall" is finished.

All it would take is the addition of a three-way valve or two and a little hose, and the path of the pumped fuel could be routed either back into the tank or to the engine.
Yep, No problem. Ran one boat with the electric pump on whenever the engine ran.
