Yeah, made up swaged hoses would be great... except with a failure in timbuktu! I guess if you just carried auto hose for a backup would be the best way to go. I guess I'd go with the smaller stuff or the swaged ends. All I know is the big stuff with a clamp as tight as you can get it still rotates on a brass barb fitting. To me that means the "cure is worse than the illness"! If I'm to the point where the fire is under the floor boards.... uhhh.... I'm outta there! I really dont see a big desxire for the ultimate fire rating thing with diesel, ever try to light diesel? doesnt light that easy.

Just talked to the local industrial hose supply place and the sell A1-15 for $1.35 a foot and can make all the fittings.

you may not need much at all. The line on my boat from the tank to the filter is about a foot long. No reason not to buy the best. Fire hazards scare me more than anything else on a boat but even just a leak is a real pain - Cleaning diesel out of the bilge is no fun.
