Fuel at Spanish Wells

Current data suggests only fuel at Spanish Wells is off site even at Yatch Haven Marina

Is this a Schlepping fuel in 5 gallons jerry jugs or fuel truck delivery to marina. If the latter any minimum number of gallons?
Need to top off there to make run off shore to USVI
Any recent info appreciated

Thanks Russ

There is a fuel dock “downtown” maybe 1/2 mile east of Yacht Haven at Marine and Hardware. Rolands also has fuel a bit further east. I have never seen truck delivery to a docked boat.

Actual dock.
Plus there is cheap fuel available at the power plant.

I believe it’s the cheapest fuel in the Bahamas

To be VERY technical about it, it's both! The only gas station I know of in town, AND the marina fuel dock. Road on one side, water on the other...

It's a three minute walk from Yacht Haven.

Re: Fuel at Spanish Wells

I pulled up to the dock, the guy dragged 50 feet or whatever of hose to the boat and filled me up with a smile. No problem mon. Pay in the grocery store across the street if memory serves. Friendly folks all around. I was there the first week of Feb. Loved Spanish Wells.

Re: Fuel at Spanish Wells

All fuel at retail outlets in the Bahamas is price controlled by government fiat and is the same price. So if the power plant is cheaper than the gas station it would very likely be the cheapest you can find.

Having a sailboat, we don't take on enough at a time to make the effort of hauling jerry jugs worth a discount.

Re: Fuel at Spanish Wells

Fuel plant is a dock and fuel hose, most often used by the Sport fishermen etc that take on 1000 gls at a time apparently.
It’s about $2 a gl cheaper apparently, call for current price though.
I have not taken on fuel there myself, unfortunately I didn’t need fuel when I passed by, next time I will plan my fuel so that I will, $2 a gallon lower price if true is nothing to pass by, not for me anyway.

If fuel price is controlled, it’s not controlled very well, I’ve seen fuel for over $6 a gl while average is a little over $5 a gl.
That’s US gallons.
