Ford Lehmann Squealing

Hi all. Thought I would throw this to the forum. I understand that I might not be giving all the relevant info so please be patient. Also realize that without hands on it is difficult to diagnose.
Problem is I have a squeal in the engine. It sounds like something is not getting any oil. Not sure whether it is a round and round squeal or an up and down squeal (technical jargon that bit). Would it be ok to pull the injectors on each cylinder individually to try and isolate where the squeal is originating? Bottom end or valves? Before I took the valve cover off I put my hand over the oil filler hole and the pressure was pushing hard on my hand. Not sure whether this is right. Also I assumed that there would be some oil thrown around when the motor was running. Nada.
It is a Ford Lehman 4cyl 80hp 2712E. I have a mechanic coming next week but if I can fix it myself I get the experience.
Thanks in advance. Coachbolt.

Addition to original. Would it be ok to wd40 the valves and rockers to narrow the cause?

I'd start by getting a short piece of garden hose (3 ft) and put one end to my ear and hunt for the noise source with the other. Could well be the alternator or water pump, as most internal engine noises are of the "thump" or "rattle" variety. Good luck
