A friends Ford Lehman stalls when fuel tanks are switched and requires bleeding to restart will not draw fuel from starboard tank

What valves are involved? If a single 2 tank valve...chect it too...sometimes they can be an issue (forget what inside the valve was the problem on my towing vessel).

Otherwise can you draw fuel from that tank bypassing the valve(s)?

If you are not troubleshooting with a squeeze ball and some clear tubing...may want to get each.

Don't forget the old fuel pick up tube screen on the bad tank can be blocked and not allow fuel draw.....

If you have rubber fuel line from the bad tank you could have a failure of the hose to your switching valve also.

Also some boats had anti-siphon valves in them that go bad....looks like a hose barb but has a little ball and spring in there.

Richard, I have a FL120 with two tanks. It's a no brainer. Either a blockage in the fuel line/pick up tube or the vent is clogged on that tank. Mud wasps love those vents. Chuck

One other thought. Check all of the fittings on that tank between the tank and the engine. If there is an air leak it would not show up but will stall the engine. Chuck

You probably have a very slow vacuum leak. One way to find the leak is to pressurize the line with fuel in it and then look for the fuel leaking out.
